SMBC Legal X runs LegalXross, a contract lifecycle management suite for Japanese companies covering drafting, AI contract review against company playbooks, e-signature (LX Sign) and contract search, and has launched an MCP service for lawyers. It was set up in August 2025 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, with partners from Anderson Mori & Tomotsune among its advisers and a tie-up with India's Volody.
