Kenyan legal AI: LexChat research assistant and a legal and regulatory data layer covering African markets

Esheria builds LexChat, which answers legal questions with citations to African statutes and cases, drafts documents and reviews contracts, plus a legal operating layer for in-house teams and firms and an API of regulatory data. Its coverage spans eight countries in East, Southern and West Africa, Kenya first. Co-founded by CEO Franklin Sagini with Austin Ekesa, Macrine Boisabi and Maxwell Ochieng', it was bootstrapped with a KSh2M loan, and runs a non-profit arm, Esheria For Good.
