Clifford Chance set up Clifford Chance Applied Solutions in 2018 to build and sell software-plus-legal-content products to in-house legal, compliance, treasury and HR teams, including the CC Dr@ft document automation tool; R&D was later centralised with Applied Solutions acting as the sales arm. The firm also built Clifford Chance Assist, a private generative AI tool on Microsoft's Azure OpenAI service, trialled with over 1,800 users before a firm-wide rollout.
